Quick ReviewAfter her little sister mysteriously vanishes, seventeen-year-old Claire Graham has a choice to make: stay snug in her little corner of Manhattan with her dropout boyfriend, or go back to Ohio to face the hometown tragedy she's been dying to leave behind.

But the memories of that night still haunt her in the city, and as hard as she tries to forget what her psychiatrist calls her "delusions," Claire can't seem to escape the wolf's eyes or the blood-speckled snow. Delusion or reality, Claire knows she has to hold true to the most important promise she's ever made: to keep Ella safe. She must return to her sleepy hometown in order to find Ella and keep her hallucinations at bay before they strike again. But time is quickly running out, and as Ella's trail grows fainter, the wolves are becoming startlingly real.

Now Claire must deal with her attraction to Grant, the soft-spoken boy from her past that may hold the secret to solving her sister's disappearance, while following the clues that Ella left for only her to find. Through a series of cryptic diary entries, Claire must unlock the keys to Ella's past—and her own—in order to stop another tragedy in the making, while realizing that not all things that are lost are meant to be found.

Detailed Review: *I received an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley from the publisher in exchange for my honest review*

Of Scars and Stardust is currently winning the-worst-book-hangover-of-the-year award.

Did you read the synopsis up there? Word for word? Really? Try to imagine what will happen as you read the book.

Whatever you think, you won't be prepared for what REALY happens in the book. That description doesn't even cover half of what actually Of Scars and Stardust entails.

When I started reading the book, the first thing I thought of was how almost similar it was to Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Claire had an obsession with wolves, just like Grace, and was hurt by them, although people call them hallucinations.

The problem is, they are hallucinations.

The book also shows how Ella, Claire's sister's character develop after an accident when she was 13. And she may even reveal the true culprit behind the 'accidents'.

I can't tell you how much I believed the wolves existed. They were just too real. I didn't believe that Claire was crazy, because hey, how often do you get main characters who are really not in their right mind?

This book left me with so many questions and no answers to them. It almost made me question my state of mind too- to think that the wolves existed.

And yet.

There were other evidence pointing to the wolves' existence.

See? See what the author does to the reader? This book turns the reader in circles until they turn dizzy.

Behold, the power of the creator.

That is what I call a good book, because Andrea Hannah's mind manipulation game in this book sure is strong.

Also keep in mind that a happily-ever-after doesn't exist.

Brief Review: To embrace this book, you truly have to open your mind to all possibilities. Nothing is what it seems in Of Scars and Stardust and even the most harmless people may be the most dangerous of all. The greatest mystery of all, really, is whether we are as sane as we think we are.

Final Rating: 5/5 'Totally Amazing!'

QUOTE

This quote somehow struck me in a way, and made me think that perhaps Claire's reality is just an illusion, which explains the wolves...

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one---Albert Einstein
